How to get to Beitostølen

The mountain village of Beitostolen is located in Valdres, between the cities of Oslo and Bergen, just a three hour drive by car or bus from Oslo. It is very easy to combine your vacation with a visit to mountain Norway.

With car:

It is easy to get to Beitostølen in your own car.

From Oslo: You spend approx. 3 hours from Oslo (230 km). Follow Europavei E-16 from Oslo, via Hönefoss to Fagernes. Then follow highway 51 from Fagernes to Beitostölen.

From Bergen / Sogn: Easy access from Bergen via E16, through Lærdal tunnel and over Filefjell. Take off from E16 at Ryfoss, where it is signposted Beitostølen.

For travelers from Bergen and Sogn, East WestXpressen between Bergen - Lærdal - Fagernes (-Lillehammer) is a good option.

 

By bus: From Oslo:

Valdresekspressen - Oslo - Beitostølen (Plus Lom - Leirvassbu in the summer season. Correspondence in Lom to and from Juvasshytta and Spiterstulen).

Valdresekspressen has up to 8 daily departures from Oslo. 5 of these departures go to Beitostølen, and in the summer season 3 of them go to Gjendesheim, 2 to Lom and 1 to Leirvassbu.
